Just when you thought that it's safe to go back to the theatre house, something from your past comes back to hunt you.
Bloody Disgusting has recently confirmed that an eight installment for the highly-successful horror franchise created by James Wan and Leigh Whannel back in 2003 will be released next year, October 27, 2017. The film is unofficially titled as 'Saw : Legacy' and is set to be directed by Michael and Peter Spierig to be shot in Toronto later in the summer. The directing duo of Peter and Michael Spierig first broke onto the genre scene when Lionsgate released their Australian zombie horror comedy Undead back in 2003. After that, they were hired by the studio to write and direct the Australian sci-fi horror film Daybreakers (2009), and the sci-fi film Predestination (2014). The 'Saw' franchise has been deemed as the "most successful horror franchise" of all time by the Guinness Book of World Records, grossing a whopping $874 million at the worldwide box-office.
What do you think about this franchise being revived again for this generation's horror fans? Do you think this will be a hit or a big disappointment? Share us you thoughts by leaving your comments below!
