"Train To Busan" Director Releases His Animated Zombie Prequel Film

Yeon Sang-ho, director of the South Korean zombie apocalypse film Train to Busan starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi and Ma Dong-seok, releases his second zombie feature this year. Seoul Station, an animated zombie film, serves as a prequel to his first hit which as already grossed $80 million dollars worldwide. It was produced (across 2014 and early 2015) and premiered (at a Brussels festival in April) before Train — which was shot in 2015 and was screened at Cannes earlier in May this year.

The film takes place in and around Seoul station, and starts with a dying old man who is shunned by everyone in the place, refusing to help the sick man. But it looks like karma's a bitch as he comes back to life, attacking everyone in the station and serving as the catalyst for the zombie apocalypse. Produced by Studio Dadashow in association with Finecut in a Next Entertainment, Finecut and Myung Films co-presentation, it features the voices of Ryu Seung-ryong, Shim Eun-kyung and Lee Joon in the lead roles.

The film was released in South Korea last August 18, 2016 and although there's still no definite international release date for it, I'm pretty sure that it's gonna be a hit among horror fans elsewhere. Check out some stills from the film and another bad-ass alternative poster below!
