Plot: An anthology of ten stories taking place in a suburban American town whose denizens are terrorized by ghouls, aliens, and killers one Halloween night.

I, for one, love anthology films. Perhaps one of my most favorite would be the George Romero cult classic "Creepshow". Alos in my list is Michael Dougherty's "Trick 'R Treat" and the Filipino anthology film series "Shake, Rattle and Roll" (which has gone on for fifteen installments). And so when I heard about this anthology film that features 11 well-known directors in the horror genre, I was somehow excited about it. and the wait was totally worth it because the film really is a Halloween delight.

The first story is entitled "Sweet Tooth" and is about a babysitter and her boyfriend who pays the price after eating all the candies of the boy that they're babysitting. So far, this is my most favorite segment of all the stories. It's storyline is simple yet well-told. It's got some good gore effects. This is also one of the segments that really made me jump. The next one is "The Night Billy Raised Hell", about a boy who learns his lesson after he tries to egg an old man's house. The story was okay. The segment wasn't really memorable. Although I really felt bad for the little kid protagonist in this story. In "Trick", a group of friends are terrorized and killed one by one by murderer Trick-or-treaters. This one has some nice story and the twist was really unexpected. "The Weak and The Wicked" is my second most favorite story in this anthology. It's about a guy who summons a demon to get revenge on these three bullies who killed his parents. I love the cast, particularly BooBoo Stewart and Grace Phipps. I also love the demon monster here. Really awesome looking.

"Grim Grinning Ghost" is about a girl who is haunted by a ghost from an urban legend. "Ding Dong" is about a guy who discovers that his wife is a child hungry witch. These two stories were the weakest ones in this film. The latter's segment was also a bit confusing probably because of the editing.  "This Means War" is about two neighbors who fight to death to fin out who has the best Halloween decoration. "Friday the 31st" gives a twist on the slasher genre as it features a deformed killer come face to face with an alien. "The Ransom of Rusty Rex" is about two bank robbers who kidnap a wealthy man's son, only 6to find out that this child is actually a monster. All of these three works best because of their humor. The final story, "Bad Seed", is probably my third most favorite story. It features a monstrous pumpkin attacking and terrorizing people.

After watching the whole movie, it does feel like a mixed bag. But then, it is by far the best anthology film I've seen this year. It's got a whole lot of laughs, scares and amazing talent to offer.
